
Thunderbird Configuration
Change text size for user interface and e-mails
- Start Mozilla Thunderbird.
- Press the ‘Alt’ key.
- A menu bar will appear at the top of Thunderbird’s main window.
- Click ‘Tools’ on the menu bar.
- A drop-down menu will appear.
- Click ‘Options’ at the bottom of the drop-down menu.
- An ‘Options’ tab will appear.
- On the left-hand pane of the new tab, click the cog icon next to the
word ‘General’.
- The right-hand pane of the new tab will then show all the
‘General’ options.
- Scroll to the bottom of all the ‘General’ options.
- Click the ‘Config Editor...’ button.
- A pop-up window will appear warning you that using the configuration
editor can cause problems.
- Click the button saying 'I accept the risk!'
- The configuration editor window will appear.
- In the search box, type ‘layout.css.devPixelsPerPx’.
- In the 'Preference Name' column, double-click
‘layout.css.devPixelsPerPx’.
- A small ‘Enter string value’ box will appear
- Type in the required value, with larger numbers making the global text
size larger.
- Click the ‘OK’ button.
- Click the ‘X’ at the top-right of the configuration editor
window.
- The configuration editor window will close.
- Click the ‘X’ at the top of the options tab.
- The options tab will close.
- Close Mozilla Thunderbird when you are finished.
